A Note from Stephanie
Kaitlyn got to look under the hood of Bumby — and I mean really look under the hood.
Systems, workflows, reporting, processes, and all the strange little workarounds that naturally appear when a business grows faster than its systems do.
Instead of looking at that and suggesting we burn everything down and start over, she approached it with a continuous-improvement mindset: What can we simplify? Where is the friction? What small change would make someone's day easier?
I really value that way of thinking.
Growth doesn't always come from one giant idea. Sometimes it comes from fixing ten small things that quietly make the whole business work better.
Kaitlyn has a natural eye for those opportunities, and it's been genuinely fun having someone who enjoys digging into the machinery of the business as much as I enjoy dreaming up what we could build next.
Who is Kaitlyn?
I'm an operations-focused professional with a strong interest in understanding how businesses work behind the scenes and finding ways to make those systems better.
I was introduced to Bumby Wool through a Western Governors University micro-internship focused on workflow optimization and digital transformation.
Through the project, I've been able to apply my professional experience in operations while exploring systems, workflows, reporting, and opportunities for process improvement.
What I enjoy most is finding ways to create more clarity, reduce friction, and build processes that allow people and businesses to do their best work.
Kaitlyn's Bumby Story
My Bumby story started through a WGU micro-internship focused on workflow optimization and digital transformation.
As part of the project, I've been conducting an operational assessment of Bumby Wool, looking at systems, workflows, reporting, and process improvement opportunities across the business.
What started as an internship project quickly turned into something I genuinely enjoy.
I love understanding how businesses operate behind the scenes, and it's been exciting to learn more about Bumby while helping identify opportunities that can improve visibility, efficiency, scalability, and future growth.
What She'd Love to Highlight
I'd love to highlight the value of continuous improvement.
Some of the biggest opportunities don't come from massive changes. They come from small improvements that create clarity, reduce friction, and help people do their best work.
That's the type of work I've built my career around, and it's one of the reasons I've enjoyed this project so much.
What She Loves About the Experience
What I've enjoyed most about this project is having the opportunity to apply the kind of work I've built my career around — continuous improvement — inside a growing business.
Some of the biggest opportunities don't come from massive changes. They come from small improvements that create clarity, reduce friction, and help people do their best work.
That's one of the reasons I've enjoyed working with Bumby so much.
