Student Stories Bumby Spotlight: Tyson

A Note from Stephanie

Tyson brought something incredibly useful to Bumby: structure.

He joined us through a student project focused on wholesale and B2B growth, and his work touched a lot of the pieces that can easily become disconnected as a small business grows — sales processes, CRM workflows, retailer outreach, follow-up, website strategy, and the systems that hold all of that together.

What I appreciated most was his focus on building things we could continue using after the project ended. He wasn't just helping us get through an assignment; he was helping create a foundation.

That kind of thinking matters in a growing business. Tyson brought practical project management, thoughtful organization, and a clear understanding that good systems should make the next step easier for the people using them.

Who is Tyson?

My name is Tyson McDonald. I’m a Technical Program Manager, business owner, and student with a strong interest in project management, operations, and helping small businesses build better systems.

What matters most to me is doing useful work, supporting people, and creating practical solutions that continue to help after a project ends.

Tyson's Bumby Story

I became connected with Bumby Wool through a student project focused on supporting wholesale and B2B growth.

During the project, I contributed to project coordination, meeting facilitation, documentation review, CRM workflow planning, sales process recommendations, outreach strategy, website review, and recommendations for Bumby's wholesale landing page.

It gave me the opportunity to look at several parts of the wholesale journey together and help identify ways the systems behind that growth could become clearer and more organized.

What He'd Love to Highlight

I’d love to highlight the work I contributed around organizing Bumby Wool’s wholesale growth systems.

This included helping document sales processes, CRM workflows, retailer segmentation, outreach recommendations, and follow-up sequences so the team would have clearer tools to build from in the future.

For me, the goal was to help create practical systems that could continue supporting the business long after the original project was complete.

What He Loves Most About Bumby

What I appreciate most about Bumby Wool is the care behind the brand.

The products, values, and community feel very intentional. It was meaningful to support a business that is not simply trying to grow, but trying to grow in a thoughtful and values-driven way.
