Full Coverage Doublers (FCD) —

Wool Blend Booster & Lightweight Cover

Bumby's most versatile wool layer — booster, barrier, night solution, and lightweight cover all in one. Simple by design, powerful in practice.

Product Description

The Full Coverage Doubler does a lot for a simple piece. Built from a soft heavyweight wool blend — 95% wool, 5% lycra — with clean serged edges, no frills, no hardware. The FCD is designed to work hard across multiple roles without driving up the price. We keep it simple so we can pass the savings on to you.

Whether you're boosting nighttime absorbency, protecting your knit wool from felting, or looking for a breezy lightweight option for the beach, the FCD quietly earns its place in your diapering routine.

Available in XS, S, M, L, and XL with updated sizing that corresponds with our other Bumby diapering products for easy, consistent fitting.

Ways to Use It

  • Night boost — heavily lanolize and use solo at night for serious overnight protection
  • Felting barrier — layer between your diaper and knit wool cover to reduce felting and dampness
  • Performance booster — pull on over the diaper, then add a cover for maximum protection
  • Lightweight cover — a simple, cost-effective option for light coverage at the beach or around the house
  • Potty learning — a gentle, familiar layer as you transition out of diapers
  • Rise extender — when your cover still fits but the rise is getting low, the FCD adds that extra layer right where you need it

Good to Know

The FCD does not stay up on its own — it needs a cover, wrap, or fitted pants to hold it in place. It is not a standalone diaper cover.

Sizing

Sizes run XS through XL, updated to correspond with Bumby's full diapering product range for easy, consistent sizing across your stash.

Diapering Collection

Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out in your cloth diaper journey, we're there with you and your baby in every step of the way.

Natural Breathability

Many families find wool especially helpful for:

  • Sensitive skin
  • Overnight diapering
  • Heavy wetters
  • Reducing irritation from trapped moisture

Wool allows airflow while still protecting against leaks. This helps reduce trapped moisture and heat around your baby’s skin, creating a more comfortable diapering experience.

Less Washing, More Wearing

One of the biggest surprises for many new wool users? Wool diaper covers don’t need washing after every use.

Because wool is naturally antibacterial and odour resistant, most covers simply need to:

  • Air dry between uses
  • Be spot cleaned when needed
  • Be washed occasionally with lanolin restoration

With proper care, a small rotation of covers can go a long way.

Machine Washable with Unicorns... no for real

Temperature Regulating Comfort

Wool helps keep little bodies comfortable in both warm and cool temperatures.

It naturally:

  • Helps release excess heat
  • Provides insulation when cold
  • Wicks moisture away from the skin

That means cozy in winter and breathable in summer.

Moisture Resistance

Without Plastic

Lanolin — the natural wax found in wool — helps repel moisture while still allowing the fabric to breathe.

Instead of trapping dampness like plastic covers, wool works with nature:

  • Absorbing small amounts of moisture
  • Allowing evaporation
  • Helping regulate humidity naturally
This means fewer sweaty layers and a more balanced diapering environment.

Amazing for Overnight Use

Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet to the touch, making it a favourite for nighttime diapering.

Many families switch to wool specifically for:

  • Overnight leak protection
  • Long naps
  • Extended wear
  • Better airflow during sleep

So cute and keeps things dry.

Traditional Cover

Love this diaper cover! Great fit and baby girl seems very comfortable! I love the stretchiness, it fits over prefolds very nicely.

Traditional Diaper Cover

These covers are great for beginners! These where the first wool items we bought for my daughter when she was about 3 months old. Because of how stretchy they are, she is still fitting them at 9 months!
