All About Sizing and Our Wool

Our kids sizing is designed with real growth patterns in mind.

Sizes up to 2T include additional room in the rise and hips to accommodate cloth diapers.

Size 3T and up use a standard fit without diaper accommodation. This is a clear and intentional shift in fit.

If cloth diaper accommodation is needed in larger sizes, it can be added on request in the order notes.

Children often grow in what can feel like an accordion pattern. They may widen slightly before a growth phase, then lengthen and lean out. Because of this, choosing a slightly larger size can often extend the wearable life of a garment.

How to Care for Your Bumbies

Bumby garments are made using high-quality merino wool fabrics designed for comfort, performance, and longevity.

Our heavyweight fabrics, commonly used for sweaters and bottoms, are a blend of 95% merino wool and 5% lycra. This combination provides structure, stretch, and durability while maintaining the natural benefits of wool.

All fabrics are milled in the USA or Canada using organic, cruelty-free Australian merino wool.

For care, garments can be machine washed on cold using an enzyme-free detergent such as Unicorn Clean. To maintain shape and longevity, lay flat to dry and gently block to your desired shape.

Hand washing is also a suitable option. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent.
