Bumby Spotlight: Kaelyn Stayrook

Bumby Spotlight: Kaelyn Stayrook

Dayton, OH  |  Learner & Student

A Note from Stephanie

Kaelyn came to Bumby through Riipen and honestly exceeded every expectation. We were working through labeling compliance for our products entering both the U.S. and Canada — not a small task — and Kaelyn approached it with such thoroughness and calm. What stood out most was her organizational instinct. She didn't just gather information; she shaped it into something the whole team could actually use. That's a skill a lot of people don't develop until much later. I'm so glad she crossed paths with us.

Who is Kaelyn?

Hi everyone! My name is Kaelyn Stayrook. I'm a Dayton, Ohio native and a marketing student at Western Governors University. I care deeply about community and meaningful work.

A lot of my experience has been in marketing and communications in the nonprofit sector. I really enjoy helping mission-driven organizations through creative marketing efforts! I currently work as a marketing & admin assistant for the Farm Bureau and am a founding associate & trustee of Vybes Community Inc., a startup organization with the mission of serving creative youth.

What matters most to me is using creativity in a way that truly serves people. I care about making work feel human, intentional, and connected to a bigger purpose.

Kaelyn's Bumby Story

I found Bumby Wool through a WGU & Riipen micro-internship opportunity, where I was matched with Stephanie and the Bumby Wool team for a short-term business project! My main role was supporting the labeling and packaging side of a compliance project — organizing team research into a guide that breaks down product categories, label needs, and risk areas across the U.S. and Canadian markets. I've learned a lot through this process and it has been a privilege to work with such a unique organization!

What She Loves Most About Bumby

What I love most about Bumby Wool is how much heart is behind the business. It is not just about products — it is about sustainability and building something that connects people. I also really appreciate how open Stephanie has been to working with students and giving learners a chance to contribute. She truly is creating a space where people can learn and be part of something meaningful!
